Work hours: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm CST, with a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks.
Primary job function: under direct supervision of the Lead Installer, perform Level 1 tasks:
- Metal and wood hole cutting
- Duct installation and connection
- Framing and nailing outlets
- Installation of flex and duct to code and AMI Quality Standards
Growth path: development into Level 2 by observing the Lead Journeyman, studying, and enrolling in Gastite and EPA classes. Certification to Level 2 is expected, and adds:
- Furnace hookups
- Refrigerant lines
- Gas fittings and gas tags
- Gas tree construction
Performance indicators used to measure effectiveness: projects installed on schedule, organization and cleanliness of work site and vehicle, callbacks on workmanship, paperwork accuracy (including time cards), fitting installation accuracy, and equipment/tool care.
